— Because together we can make nice things happen.—
Alex De La Fuente
Hello I'm Alex, a Graphic Designer from Bilbao, Spain.
I’m a 25 year old graduate from the EASD School of Arts and Design,
who is truly interested on being an in-house designer or working as a
freelancer. If you are interested in working with me I’m just an email or a
skype call away. So I hope you contact me and we can have a chat ;)
I Know you like parallax effects ;)
First things first, here is some of my personal info to help break the ice.
We both know that it may not be the best idea for me to rate myself but here we go!
Easy going (after breakfast)
HOW I USUALLY WORK
This is the method I used to work with.
I like to meet my clients and take a cup of tea with them (though they usually choose coffee). It’s a fact that the more you know your client the easier the project becomes.
PENCIL AND MORE PENCIL
To get started, I like to sketch and do some easy fast drafts, cut and paste colours from magazines or colour with some Posca pens.
Here is where things get interesting, if you see the smile of your client you know you’ve understood a few things: what he wanted but didn’t mentioned or what he really wanted even though he asked for something else. Now let’s get to work!
WORK & MEETING
After arranging the sketches and doing some calls, in case any aspect of the project needs to be clarified, I like to meet with the client again and take another coffee (I’ve already given up on that one).
IF WORK IS DONE THEN CLAP YOUR HANDS IF NOT THEN BACK TO STEP 4
Once the project is finished and handed over, I like to share impressions with my clients and hear what they have to say, so we can both learn from this experience.
Here is where you can see my educational highlights. The following are my academic achievements.
2010 - 2014
During my 4 years of school I’ve covered all the basic subjects for the training of graphic designers, e.g. Colour theory, Art history, Volume and Sculpture, Painting, Print, Media, Software and so on. Whilst learning, on top of that, web design and typography by myself and attending several talks and workshops for designers, e.g. AGI Open BCN, Serifalaries, SEELECTED (B, C, D and E) events, Behance portfolio review days, etc. I started feeling everyday improvement and commitment to this profession.
2013 - 2013
OMy 3 and a half month internship at this Belgium branding specialised studio taught me more than I’ve ever imagined, it was one of the best experiences I’ve ever have. They are the reason I now see projects on a completely different way as well as having changed my point of view as a designer, I see things from a new perspective now.
